Minerva, Roman goddess of war

Venus is the Roman goddess of femininity, love, beauty, and gardens. She embodied the female attributes of life. Venus was said to have had many romantic exploits with both gods and mortals. Today, she is mainly known as the goddess of love, but in the era of the Roman Empire she held many responsibilities including […] Athena, Goddess of Wisdom Athena, The Virgin Goddess Just like Artemis and Hestia, Athena was never swayed by love or passion.Consequently, she never had any children. Some say that Erichthonius was an exception, but, in fact, Athena was only his foster-mother. True, Hephaestus did try to violate her, but she fought him off, so he spilled his semen over the Earth, after which Gaea was impregnated. Minerva was the goddess of wisdom, war, art, schools, justice and commerce. She was the Etruscan counterpart to Greek Athena. Like Athena, Minerva burst from the head of her father, Jupiter (Greek Zeus), who had devoured her mother (Metis) in an unsuccessful attempt to prevent her birth. Sulis was the local goddess of the thermal springs that still feed the spa baths at Bath, which the Romans called Aquae Sulis ("the waters of Sulis"). Sulis was likely venerated as a healing divinity, whose sacred hot springs could cure physical or spiritual suffering and illness. According to scholar Miranda Green, the cult of Sulis at Bath was active until the mid-fourth century CE. Athena was the ancient Greek goddess of wisdom and good counsel, war, the defence of towns, heroic endeavour, weaving, pottery and various other crafts. She was depicted as a stately woman armed with a shield and spear, and wearing a long robe, crested helm, and the famed aegis - a snake-trimmed cape adorned with the monstrous visage of the Gorgon Medusa. Her Roman name was Minerva. Minerva is the long-neglected name of the Roman goddess of wisdom and invention, the arts and martial strength, one of the mythology names for girls that might appeal to adventurous feminist parents. Minerva Continued Greek Goddess of Wisdom and War. Athena, also referred to as Athene, is a very important goddess of many things. She is goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. Minerva is the Roman goddess of wisdom. She was also the goddess of trade, the arts, and strategy in war. Her domains included medicine, poetry, and handicrafts as well. She was in charge of so many things that Ovid called her the “goddess of a thousand works”! Minerva was highly influenced by the Greek goddess […] As a goddess of war, Athena often shows up in Greek legend to assist various heroes -- Heracles, Odysseus and Jason all got a helping hand from Athena. In classical myth, Athena never took any lovers, and was often revered as Athena the Virgin, or Athena Parthenos . Lakshmi (Hindu) - goddess of abundance, beauty, and prosperity. Levana (Roman) - goddess of the moon. Lissa (African) - supreme mother goddess. Luna (Roman) - goddess of the moon. Maia (Greek) - goddess of fields. Marina (Slavic) - goddess of the moon. 2021.10.17 09:08 xland44 [Meta] Post Flaring

We've received questions in the past regarding how to flair posts, so to prevent responding individually each time, this post is intended to be a simple guide on how to flair your posts.
What are flairs? They're essentially a way to categorize posts on a subreddit, allowing you to quickly search and filter posts you don't want to see. For example, if I want to see art that users have posted to this subreddit, I could type in the searchbar flair:Art and it will show me all the art that's been posted in this subreddit.
We've enforced flairs on this subreddit for a few simple reasons - it acts as an automatic spam removal, it enables the subreddit to be tidy and lets you quickly find more content that you like, and it's surprisingly effective at limiting the number of low-effort content, which usually don't contribute to discussions.
That being said, adding flairs to posts is pretty simple. There are two ways to do this:
A - if using Old Reddit, you can retroactively flair a post. You should see at the very bottom of your post a small menu. Click the word 'flair' to choose a flair.
B - When making a post, include the flair in brackets in the title. For example, if you want to post a thread called "Mating Rituals Pt. 6", with the [Discussion] flair, the title of the post should be [Discussion] - Mating Rituals Pt. 6. For another example, look at this posts' title. If you do this, your post will automatically be flared. The list of flairs can be seen in the sidebar.
How does post removal work?
We use an automated bot, AssistantBOT , to handle flairs. If a post doesn't have a flair within ~5-10 minutes of posting, it'll be automatically removed. If you then go and flair it, it will automatically be re-added.
If you have any further questions, contact us here.

2021.10.17 09:08 Huskyy23 Video resources on dealing with being self concious?

I have a friend who really isn’t a fan of her body image, she has made strides lately but still struggles, I told her a bit about stoicism and how it may help her, and she’s really interested.
I know of some videos to send her about introductory stoicism in general, but I need to find videos on dealing with how to accept yourself, and basically not taking unwarranted criticism, how not to get easily influenced, that sort of thing.
Does anyone have videos to recommend?
Thank you
